Our process begins with an initial meeting to discuss your design brief. At this point we will brainstorm some concepts and sketch up some floor plans, so please feel free to bring along any images or vision boards. We will also take this opportunity to get to know you and your lifestyle and ensure that your designs align with your budget.
After the design brief meeting, we will prepare a concept design for you to review. Here we will review the concept collaboratively and ensure you are entirely satisfied with the design.
Following your approval of concept design, we will move into preparing a budget estimate based on the scope of the project, specifications and finishes.
Once the budget estimate has been finalised we move onto the documentation stage. A preliminary agreement will be presented to you which includes the preparation of building engineering plans, soil reports and final contract specifications.
Once you’re comfortable with the proposed plan and documents, we’ll guide you through the contract and ensure you understand every aspect. At this point, you’ll be aware of how long your build will take, interior finishes, documentation, and the warranty process.
When Onsite Construction begins, you’ll receive an email from our team with a link to the live builder portal. This portal will allow you to keep track of the progress of your build from week to week, as well as provide a convenient way to communicate easily with your project manager and schedule site progress meetings.
Congratulations! You’re (almost) ready to step inside your new home. Once the building work has been completed, your builder will carry out a thorough defect walkthrough with you to ensure you’re fully satisfied with the finish. Afterwards, a final invoice and certificate of completion will be provided and then you’ll be ready to move in!
We don't stop at handover, your online portal will remain open for any further communication or documentation access as well as lodgement of any defects or warranty claims (if any).

Guilbert Construction completed the renovation of three bathrooms at our home in early 2024. From the outset, the Managing Director, Chris Guilbert, demonstrated the qualities that were important to us, being reliable, honest and a great communicator. We found him to be a lovely person and very easy to work with. Chris was highly organised and his attention to the job and a quality outcome was consistent from start to finish. Prior to the work commencing, we were provided with a detailed schedule, forecasting the dates which trades/tasks would be completed during the renovation period. We were very impressed that over the two months of renovations, the work was completed in line with the schedule, with very little change. The trades used by Guilbert Construction were excellent, with the same standard for quality and good-natured individuals, we felt very comfortable having them in our home. During the planning stage, Chris provided excellent advice, including design options, which resulted in beautiful and functional bathrooms, which we love. Excellent craftsman and an honest businessman. Wide knowledge of the trades and ability to pull it all together, which is an ongoing challenge these days. Chris has a somewhat unique ability to listen to the brief and understand the vision on a project, point out the potential issues, offer realistic solutions and then assist in coordinating the draft, the surveying, the design, the modifications, council approvals through to the build and what is necessary to bring a vision to life. There's been more than a few times where other trades have said something can't be done, Chris has the imagination and knowledge to get these things done. It's a nice feeling knowing things are getting done right the first time, absolutely relaxing to know in the back of your mind no corners are cut and that you're creating a legacy of solid workmanship in your home. I've appreciated Chris' ability to work within budget and reasonable time lines, he's also advised on the aspects that would be cheaper to contract outside his scope if the savings are warranted. I have developed complete confidence in this builder to complete a full project and wouldn't hesitate to recommend his company for any residential build or Reno.
